Our aim is to build a hospice for children with life-limiting and life threatening illnesses. The strain on families who have to look after such children 24 hours a day, seven days a week is immense and the hospice will help meet the needs of the whole family by providing care and support. At the moment the nearest children's hospice for families in West Yorkshire is either Wetherby in North Yorkshire or in Manchester. Therefore there is a very real need for such a hospice in West Yorkshire.The hospice will provide specialist respite, emergency, palliative and terminal care in a child friendly family centred environment. There will be care for the child and support for parents and siblings. The current situationWe have currently raised almost £1 million but need to reach a target of £3 million. Whether it be to arrange a one-off fundraiser or to stage events, your combination is invaluable. Our senior fundraiser is available to provide support and assistance and is only an e-mail or a phone call away. Why volunteer? Joining other volunteers is a great way to make new friends, whilst enjoying fulfilling and rewarding activities. Being a charity volunteer can make a real impression on a CV or it could give you valuable experience in an area of work in which you may later apply for a job.
