A fifteen minute visit......What a strange country we live in. If you are a drug addict or alcoholic then you are given all the money and help needed to rehabilitate but yet we allow home care dispensed by local authorities to be reduced to as little as a fifteen minute visit or the preferred method – no care at all and turn you over to private ‘care’ groups. Kirklees Metropolitan Council are no strangers to these methods and as dedicated, long serving care staff leave because of what is being imposed on them by KMC the service can only get worse. This of course does not affect the administration staff that ‘liase’ with the private sector ‘care’ groups. All part of looking after the people who have worked and fought for this country in their twilight years, I think not. |
