Secret plans........Secret plans for a multi-billion-pound package of stealth taxes on fuel, cars, air travel and consumer goods have been drawn up by the Government to combat global warming. Well that’s what the story said in the nationals but as we all know this Government is more interested in taxing us and will only use the environment as an excuse. Since when have Blair’s lot been interested in the people of this country, never mind the environment? One of the more interesting con tricks is whenever oil prices go down, the Government would get the cash in extra fuel tax - not the motorist. Also proposed is a £1.50 tax on old style light bulbs, now what was that about ‘will the last person to leave put the light out’. You’ll have to excuse me now as I will have to go and count the number of breaths I have taken today and fill out my tax form! |
