We learn social interaction...........The study details revealed recently in the Sunday Mail that children prefer a blank TV screen to a smiling human face made interesting reading. Without boring everybody with the complete study findings, they basically found that youngsters preferred to look at a TV screen in preference to a human face. Dr Markus Bindermann who carried out the research said "We learn social interaction - how to deal with people and how to read them - from looking at their faces. If you just stare at a box, you don't get any genuine interactions. In the long run that's got to have pretty dire consequences. Could explain why so many people, especially the young, walk around with a blank expression and seem unable to speak or look you in the face. |
