I realised what was missing............The appointment of ambassadors to promote Huddersfield is a very laudable scheme but when I look to see that what is being promoted and it is a retail scheme for Queensgate, the Waterfront development, face lift for St George’s Square and development of St Georges Warehouse, I realised what was missing – industry. What about promoting our long experience of chemical, mechanical and textile engineering for example? The people of Huddersfield need jobs, proper career jobs not fancy apartments or a tarted up square. |
