To make you feel safe..........Be careful if you park in Huddersfield or any of the surrounding villages.
Kirklees Council have employed forty fine upstanding people called Traffic Attendants whose sole aim is to extract as much money from the motorist as possible. These 'Attendants' are on the prowl at weekends as well so be warned. When I asked for the reasons behind the excessive patrolling I was sent the following explanation:
The reason why we are patrolling areas (including weekends) is to obviously enforce any parking violations, but to also support and respond to requests from the Police, Councillors and Community Safety Groups who have asked that we show a presence within areas regarding public safety.
So there you have it, you will be issued with a £30.00 fine to make you feel safe!
