‘Make do and mend’
The story regarding the Huddersfield cyclist who was awarded £6,000 damages against Kirklees Metropolitan Council after falling from his cycle due to a pothole does not come as a surprise.
The ‘patch up’ and ‘make do and mend’ attitude towards road repair in Kirklees is a disgrace and this has been pointed out on this message board by other riders. The practice of going out to cold fill these potholes is a total waste of time as the material used comes out again within a matter of days. We know that the roads in Kirklees are some of the worst in the country but why has this been the case for so long now? |
