The tower of timeLindley clock tower was built in 1902 by James Nield Sykes of Field Head, Lindley and is located at the corner of Lidget Street and Daisy Lea Lane. The sculpture over the entrance door is “Time” and the four buttress figures are “Truth” facing East, “Love” facing South, “Purity” facing West and “Justice” facing North.
The frieze round the tower depicts “Spring” symbolised by the blooming almond (East), “Summer” symbolised by the rose (South), “Autumn” symbolised by the apple (West) and “Winter” symbolised by the holly (North).
