Do they think we live in New Orleans?

Now that the go-ahead has been given by our councillors for the Waterfront Quarter Scheme (do they think we are in New Orleans?) and it will be yet more flats and leisure facilities, can we expect the same amount of energy to go into providing more employment in Huddersfield?

It is stated that it ‘could’ provide up to 2000 jobs, what type and quality and what will the ‘real’ total be?

Why is it that engineering / chemical industry employers do not favour our town with its long history in those fields, are they being given any incentives to move here?

We are slowly but surely becoming a dormitory town for Leeds and Manchester with all our flats and ‘apartment’ dwellings.

The development is being built at Folly Hall no matter what fancy title you give, let’s hope it doesn’t live up to its name.
